Project Background

How to Resolve Current Operational Pain Points

Manufacturer Z is one of China's major vending machine producers, providing customized OEM and ODM services for a full range of vending equipment. Its product lineup includes vending machines, freezer units, smart vending lockers, merchandisers, compartment combined lockers, milk dispensers and more.

After products equipped with traditional mechanical locks were launched on the market, Manufacturer Z learned through after-sales service that most vending machine operators face the following challenges:

Vending Machine Locks

1. Non-master-key locks lead to difficult key management

Each restocking staff manages 30 to 50 vending machines. Every time they arrive at a machine, they need to check the lock number and find the matching key from a large bunch of keys.

2. Master-key locks carry significant security risks

For master-key systems, if keys are lost or not returned by resigned staff, goods inside numerous vending machines may be stolen, causing economic losses to operators.

Core Customer Requirement

Support Authorized Master Access and Master Access Revocation

Manufacturer Z urgently needed to upgrade its original locks to resolve headaches for its existing customers and further enhance brand value.

Based on field feedback, Manufacturer Z required locks that support both authorized master access and master access revocation to suit diverse operational scenarios:

  • Restocking staff can efficiently open multiple assigned vending machines using one single key.
  • If keys are lost or not returned by resigned employees, master access can be revoked to disable the key and protect merchandise inside vending machines.

MAKE has maintained long-term cooperation with Manufacturer Z. Building on this partnership, we delivered a cost-effective and efficiency-boosting solution tailored to its requirements.

Enable Authorized Master Access & Access Revocation via APP

MAKE launches the "Vending Machine Lock Housing + Passive Lock Cylinder" solution. The existing MK200 lock housings purchased by Manufacturer Z can be retained, while the original lock cylinders are replaced with MK-E225 passive lock cylinders.

T-handle Lock

The MK-E225 comes with a dedicated APP management platform featuring complete, stable and flexible access control mechanisms.

It empowers vending machine operators to manage sub-accounts via the main account on the APP and realize intelligent lock management.

Whether in online or offline mode, the MK-E225 allows one key to open multiple designated locks.

Restocking staff log into sub-accounts on the APP and connect the key with locks via Bluetooth to unlock devices.

The streamlined operation frees restocking personnel from cumbersome key sorting and improves restocking efficiency, while helping operators cut labor costs.

In cases of lost keys or unreturned keys from resigned staff, administrators can revoke employee account permissions on the APP under online mode. The connection between the key and APP will be invalidated, disabling unlocking capability and further strengthening vending machine security.

Smart Lock

This solution makes rational use of existing hardware resources and effectively addresses Manufacturer Z's core pain points.

Smart Vending Locks

Notably, the MK-E225 serves as a direct 1:1 seamless replacement for the MK200 lock cylinder. The replacement procedure is straightforward and easy to complete even for novice installers.
